Trackers are required to complete a minimum of two, month-long rotations involving wilderness medicine. Opportunities exist at a variety of clinics, or residents may develop their own through work with rural clinics, national parks, search and rescue outfits or international organizations. These rotations may doubly fill the rural rotation requirement or support one's research effort.

In conjunction with Wilderness Medical Society (WMA), the WMT sponsors a bi-annual WALS course for all ALS-certified providers and medical students. Our next WALS course will be held from Saturday morning, May 5 to Wednesday afternoon, May 9 2007 in Red Lodge, MT.
